ABOUT THE ARTISTS...Denver-based touring artist, John Statz, & KC-based "Banjo Kelly" share a love of history, storytelling, lilting melodies, lush lyrics, and all things Irish. After meeting last year over a split bill with mutual friend, John Keck, they are joining forces again for a singular evening of shared stories and songs.

"One of the more prolific and hard-working young songwriters working in the Americana genre, John Statz has released seven studio albums, and performed all over North America (including Canada and Mexico) and Europe, all in just a shade over a decade. Throughout that time he’s been writing the kind of songs that float through your mind and stay nestled in your thoughts long after listening (American Songwriter) and it’s been said that his songwriting can stand beside the best and above the rest (No Depression). Along the way John has attracted the attention of the likes of Americana scene heroes Jeffrey Foucault and Bo Ramsey (Lucinda Williams, Greg Brown), who separately produced his last two records. This latest is produced by fellow Denver songwriter Megan Burtt, whose instincts and backing band help bring forth an entirely new sound from Statz."

"Kelly Hunt is a singer-songwriter of Americana/Folk music—born and raised in Memphis, TN but now based out of Kansas City, MO. Kelly's primary instrument is her voice, which rings out with confidence and clarity of one who has been singing all her life. Accompanied by her 1920s tenor banjo, 5-string banjo, and guitar, Kelly’s songs meld traditions of folk, classic country, and old-time music for a sound that is both timeless and fresh. Her songwriting is poetic but approachable, full of feeling and alive with storytelling. Kelly’s debut album “Even The Sparrow” will hit radio and international distribution in 2019, and she will be on tour in support throughout 2019 and 2020.

"Hunt applies her haunting voice and evocative banjo playing to songs that build on the work of contemporary masters like Gillian Welch. Hunt is a vital young voice who promises to continue providing solace and inspiration for decades."
